About this policy

Landmark Trades Electrical (NSW) and Landmark Electrical (VIC) (“Landmark”, “we”, “us”) respect your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name, phone number, email address and the service address where work is required.
  • Details of the electrical work you are enquiring about, including photos you send us.
  • Payment details when you pay an invoice. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Concession details where you claim a seniors or pensioner discount — we sight the card on site but do not retain a copy.
  • Any correspondence between us, including quotes, invoices, job notes and reviews.

Information collected automatically

  • Your IP address, browser type, device type and operating system.
  • Pages you visit on our website, how you arrived, and how long you stay.
  • Advertising identifiers such as the Google click identifier (gclid) when you reach us from an online ad.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you — by phone, through a form on this website, by email, or in person when our electrician attends.
  • Automatically — through cookies and the analytics and advertising tools listed below.
  • From third parties — such as review platforms, referral partners, or where you respond to one of our advertisements or mail-outs.

Why we collect and use it

  • To quote, schedule and carry out electrical work.
  • To issue invoices, take payment and keep the records we are required to keep.
  • To meet our obligations as a licensed electrical contractor, including issuing certificates of compliance or electrical safety.
  • To respond to enquiries and provide warranty or follow-up service.
  • To improve our website and understand which of our advertising works.
  • To send you offers and updates, where you have not opted out (see below).

Direct marketing and how to opt out

We may contact you with offers, promotions and service reminders by mail, email, SMS or phone, including the printed offers we distribute in our service areas. We do this in accordance with APP 7 and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

To stop receiving marketing from us, use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or call 0405 091 456 and ask to be removed. We will action it promptly and at no cost to you. Opting out of marketing does not affect messages about a job you have booked.

Cookies, analytics and advertising technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work; others help us measure performance and advertising. The services we currently use are:

  • Google Tag Manager — loads the tools below.
  • Google Analytics 4 — website traffic and behaviour measurement.
  • Google Ads — conversion tracking and remarketing, so we can see which ads generate enquiries and show ads to people who have visited us.
  • Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session activity such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, to show us how pages are used.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel and TikTok Pixel — advertising measurement and remarketing on those platforms.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms from automated spam. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
  • Trust.Reviews — displays our Google review rating.
  • Cloudflare — security and content delivery for the website.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do. You can also opt out of personalised Google advertising through your Google Ads settings.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers who help us operate — scheduling and invoicing software, payment processors, email and SMS providers, and our IT and marketing suppliers.
  • Suppliers and manufacturers, where needed to process a warranty claim or order equipment for your job.
  • Regulators and network operators, where we are required to notify electrical work or submit compliance paperwork.
  • Where required by law, including to a court, tribunal or government agency.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. This is most likely where we use Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft or Cloudflare services. We take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, or for as long as we are required to keep it for tax, licensing or warranty purposes. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.

There is no charge for making a request. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first on 0405 091 456 so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
