Oven and induction cooktop installation by Landmark Electrical

Oven & Induction Cooktop Installation

$0 call-out, 7am–3pm weekdays24/7 emergencies4.9 on Google

Landmark Electrical installs wall ovens, freestanding cookers and electric and induction cooktops across Sydney and Melbourne. We check that your circuit and switchboard can carry the new appliance, run a new circuit where it cannot, and connect everything to the manufacturer’s instructions. Call 0405 091 456 for a free quote.

Switching from gas to induction is one of the more common kitchen jobs we do. Induction cooktops draw more power than most older cooking circuits were built for, so it pays to have the circuit checked before the new cooktop arrives.

What we install

Induction and electric cooktops

Most full-size induction cooktops need a dedicated circuit, commonly 32 amps. We confirm the rating from the installation manual and your switchboard before quoting.

Wall ovens

Some wall ovens plug into a standard power point and others are hardwired on their own circuit. We fit either, and replace like for like where the cavity matches.

Freestanding cookers

Freestanding ovens with a cooktop usually need a hardwired connection on a heavy-duty circuit, which we install or upgrade as needed.

New cooking circuits

Where your existing circuit is too small, we run a new cable from the switchboard with its own circuit breaker and safety switch protection.

Moving from gas to electric

Circuit and switchboard check

We check the spare capacity in your switchboard and your supply. Some older boards need an upgrade before they can take an induction cooktop.

Capping the gas

The old gas cooktop must be disconnected and the gas line capped by a licensed gasfitter. We work alongside your gasfitter so the changeover happens in one go.

Compliance paperwork

New circuit work comes with a compliance certificate: a CCEW in NSW or a Certificate of Electrical Safety in Victoria.

Common questions

Do I need a new circuit for an induction cooktop?

Often, yes. Many older homes have a 20 or 25 amp cooking circuit, and larger induction cooktops need more. We will tell you before we quote.

Can you install an oven I bought myself?

Yes. Have the installation manual handy and we will confirm the circuit it needs.

Will my switchboard need upgrading?

Sometimes. Older boards with ceramic fuses or no spare room usually do. We check it first so you know the full cost upfront.
